Mama Janet had earlier on written; “I congratulate the candidates who have performed well in the examination. I thank their teachers and parents for giving them the support they needed. I also thank the examiners who marked the candidates’ work.”

However, she cautioned some schools that refuse to admit students by using excuses of preregistration tests to desist from continuing  with the practice or they will face repercussions.

The Minister warned that “Let me use this occasion to reiterate that this practice of giving pre-registration tests must stop. Instead, teachers should concentrate on effective teaching throughout the Primary cycle to ensure all the learners who reach the Primary 7 Class are able to write the PLE.

I am glad to note that malpractice cases have gone down very significantly from the 2018 examination, due to the measures put in place by UNEB, the work of the security agencies, some parents and well-intentioned members of the public.”
