Entebbe: Hundreds In Tears As Fire Guts Properties Worth Millions

Entebbe: Hundreds of people are in tears after fire gutting Kigungu landing site in Entebbe Municipality leaving properties worth millions in ash state.

According to witnesses, this fire started close to 7.00 pm on Sunday evening and its source is still unknown.

Kigungu is situated between to a UPDF garrison command base and Entebbe International Airport. It houses close to 30,000 people dealing in the fishing business and general merchandise.

The landing site also acts as the exit point for people heading to distant shores in the Ssese and Bussi Islands.

A fire brigade was set off as soon as the fire broke out from the Aviation Police at the entry check point of the landing site.

Police is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
