Kampala: City events promoters Abbey Musinguzi aka Abtex and Andrew Mukasa alias Bajjo Eventz are back again in another imminent battle with the police.
The two promoters were recently clobbered from downtown Kampala and arrested for distributing People Power T-shirts, on top of calling upon people to allegedly go at a concert aimed at raising money to bail out vendors who were arrested by Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) operatives.
They were released on police bond a few days back but shortly after release Bbajjo and Abtex events have threatened to drag Uganda police to Court for allegedly over using boxers (Kanyamas) who clobbered them as they distributed T-shirts to collect money to bail our traders who were arrested by police and KCCA.
The promoters now claim that the police have failed to register their case yet they were injured during their arrest and they want the police to explain why they just looked on and never did anything while the Kanyamas clobbered them.
Bbajjo claims the police hired the boxers from Kisenyi to attack them, yet the mandate of the police is to keep law and order and to fight mob justice.
The two promoters have since vowed to continue with their struggle of bailing out all street vendors arrested on orders of police and KCCA.
