TheSpy Uganda has since learnt that Col. Nakalema’s intervention was after a petition by the leaders of the Church which saw her footing to the scene to get the in-depth of the entire saga.
After arriving at the scene, Nakalema was informed by officials of the Buganda Land Board (BLB) that the Church are the owners of the disputed land, something government chief surveyor, Wilson Ogalo confirmed.
These come after recently goons of tenants attacked the house of the parish clergy Rev Mikka Lukwago and destroyed his property and house. Furious Nakalema has since ordered for their immediate arrest.
Meanwhile, Nakalema’s intervention has since been praised by the Church who had since registered a couple of sleepless nights due to unruly goons.
Ever since this year kicked off, Col. Nakalema has been ruthless against land grabbers and has since arrested dozens. For example in June this year, she arrested three people in connection with the unlawful eviction of a 97-year-old woman, Mayimuna Kyamulabi.
This was after Nakalema inviting Kyamulabi in her office and listened to her ordeal of how she had been tormented by land grabbers in connivance with her daughter and son-in-law.
They forcefully threw her out of her residence and razed her house and other rentals where she used to earn a living. This triggered Nakalema to order for the arrest of Muhammad Musoke, Geoffrey Kayizi Kizito and Kyamulabi’s daughter, Amina Zawedde of Buwambo in Kira Municipality.
