Sheema, Uganda: Excitement filled the air when it emerged that Visionary Junior primary school, Kakindo, in Sheema District was ranked as the best performing school in the just released Primary Leaving Examinations of 2018.
The school got 62 first grades out of the total number of 62 pupils that sat, hence 100% pass according to the education committee of Sheema that sat at the district headquarters on 18th January 2019. Some of the excited pupils we talked at the school revealed to us what they want to be in future basing on their recent performance. They attributed their performance to Gods’ grace. The Headteacher Nyakanyinya primary school, Mr. Bangirana Benard after being ranked the best in Sheema South ,thanked the teachers and parents for the cooperative heart they showed him last year, he vowed that next year they won’t get any second grade. “I have never seen this before because many people still can’t believe that we are the ones who performed better like this, we got 8 first
grades out of 10 pupils who sat,” he said. Some of the schools which have been performing poorly in recent years but improved this year like Kishenyi central Primary school Kashekuro in Sheema south, told SpyUganda that they didn’t get a relaxing time during last year because they spent over 12 hours teaching. Mr Muyambi Gerensias head teacher Kishenyi central thanked teachers and said that for them as the school they hit their target and they hope to hit their next target.
