President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Tuesday December 31, 2019 hosted former prime minister John Patrick Amama Mbabazi at his farm in Kisozi, Gomba district.
Mbabazi, who contested against Museveni in the 2016 presidential election, had spent a long time without public presence with his former boss, whom he wanted to oust from the presidency.
While commenting about the historical visit, Museveni took to social and wrote thus; “With former Prime Minister John Patrick Amama Mbabazi at the farm in Kisozi.”
Shortly thereafter, President Museveni and Mbabazi took a strategic walk around the farm during which they discussed very private and personal matters.
Our Spy who was at Kisozi intimated to us that among the private matters Museveni and Mbabazi discussed was the events that are bound to unfold with the onset of the looming 2021 general election.
The Spy also intimated to us that the President also sought Mbabazi’s opinion on whether he might consider contesting for presidency again in 2021, under his Go Forward pressure group.
Indeed by the time Museveni and Mbabazi returned from the long private walk around Kisozi farm, the former Primer Minister looked all satisfied and merry as a result of the discussion with the President, according to the Spy.
Our Spy also revealed that Mbabazi was promised a very juicy position in President Museveni’s next government should he consider garnering support for the National Resistance Movement (NRM).
It should be noted that although Museveni and Mbabazi have always portrayed themselves as adversaries, they entertain and a love-hate relationship.
Actually, Museveni made headlines in 2018 when he was invited as Chief Guest at the wedding of Mbabazi’s daughter Bridget Birungi Rwakairu to South African First Son Andile Ramaphosa.
