Former Vipers SC head coach Miguel Da Costa has been appointed as the new head coach of Botswana’s based side Jwaneng Galaxy FC penning down a three year contract with the club.
The Portuguese was fired just less than two months after guiding Vipers to a first league title in three years. He was at Vipers for one and a half years, winning one major title and losing the 2018 Uganda Cup final to KCCA FC.
Reports suggest that he lost his job after having an affair with Vipers patron Lawrence Mulindwas daughter, something that several Vipers players and officials denied.
The CECAFA Kagame cup in Tanzania was his last outing with the Venoms whom he led to a last eight appearance at the tournament before they were eliminated by Kenyan giants Gor Mahia.
At Jwaneng, he joins up with former Vipers striker Alfred Leku who joined the side late last week.
