Kampala: Ministry of Health has confirmed that Uganda has registered 81 new COVID-19 cases and one death from results tested on 29 August 2020, bringing cumulative total confirmed cases of Ugandans to 2,928 and 1,288 recoveries.
The deceased is Ugandan male aged 65 years old and a resident of Mbale rising total COVID-19 deaths to 30.
It is in this regard that the Uganda’s first son Lieutenant General Muhoozi Kainerugaba voiced the need to follow the Ministry of Health set guidelines to curb the transmission of the virus.
Muhoozi tweeted, “Fellow compatriots, with COVID-19 cases skyrocketing in our own country and with over 830,000 dead around the world. Please follow all @MinofHealthUG guidelines.”

Others are health workers (12): Lira-4, Kampala-3, Moroto-3, Jinja-1, Tororo-1 and two (2) Truck drivers from Malaba border point of entry.
Meanwhile, 11 foreign truck drivers tested positive for COVID-19 at the border and their entry into the country was not permitted.
Ministry also tested 791 samples from border points of entry and 3,099 samples from contacts and alerts rising total samples to 3,890.
