Senior Commissioner of Police (SCP) and the Uganda Police Force Chief Political Commissar (CPC) Hadija Namutebi has urged officers to save with Police Exodus Sacco so as to transform their livelihoods.

CPC Namutebi who doubles as the chairperson Supervisory Committee made the remarks while addressing the officers from Kampala Metropolitan area on 15th September 2022.

“Salary will never be enough, we need to look for avenues of improving our livelihood and that is through saving with our Sacco, Police put it in place and please make use of it to transform your lives by borrowing to set up developmental projects,” CPC Namutebi pleaded with the officers.

She furthermore encouraged officers to buy more shares with the savings scheme to increase its capital base since with saving schemes its all about numbers.

“We encourage you to buy more share so that we widen our capital base. This will help us offer more loans to members and invest as you payback in installments. This is the way to go.”

The savings scheme is a welfare programme that should be embraced to give morale towards effective and efficient performance of Police work.

Supplementing on the campaign, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Arnold Male, a savings and recovery officer with Exodus Sacco highlighted on the introduction of an online system where one can access services from Sacco.

“We are going digital and we have a system whereby one can apply for the loan from anywhere he or she is working from. You scan and send the information to our system and you are served.” Said ASP Maale.

He also revealed that one can also make direct savings apart from the monthly deduction to increase on the savings which can still be monitored online.

The team covered officers from Wandegeya, Old Kampala, Kasangati and Kawempe police stations.
