Julius Bukyana, who recently contested for East African Legislative Assembly (EALA), has reached a significant academic milestone when he earned a Master’s degree in International Relations and Diplomacy from Nkumba University. The degree was awarded during Nkumba’s 26th graduation ceremony held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at its Entebbe campus.

The theme of the graduation, “30 Years of Transforming Dreams into Knowledge and Skills,” echoed Bukyana’s journey towards his vision for a greater East African community, where he believes his skills can serve a wider community much better.

As a dedicated public relations officer at Victoria University, a prominent institution renowned for its practical, work-integrated learning approach in East Africa, Bukyana has balanced his academic aspirations with a demanding professional life.

Reflecting on his academic journey, he remarked, “Success isn’t an accident. It requires hard work, persistence, and a genuine passion for what you do. This journey had its challenges, but today, I am proud to celebrate the outcome.”

Bukyana expressed gratitude for the support he received along the way, crediting his achievement to his family, friends, and the university’s committed lecturers, who supported him in managing the demands of his coursework alongside his other commitments.

This accomplishment, Bukyana says, reinforces his ambition to serve in a legislative role within a regional parliament, particularly in advocating for political, economic, and social progress in the East African Community (EAC).

“This degree is a significant step forward in my journey. I’m more academically equipped to contribute meaningfully to the East African integration agenda,” he shared, signalling his intent to leverage his enhanced expertise in future political endeavours.

Comrade Buckyana, here at TheSpy Uganda, we wish you nothing but the best. Byoona Katonda yasalawo…
