Kampala: Prominent journalist Charles Mwanguhya Mpagi has inked a new contract agreement with Next Media services to host NBS TV’s popular political show, ‘The Frontline’.

The Burahya County MP former contestant now officially replaces Arua boy, Joseph Sabiiti who scooped a juicy job at the Parliament of Uganda as public relations head to deputy speaker Anita Among.

“I’m glad I have ended my sabbatical and joining news room again. But my role is simple.. talkshow host…. which I have been doing for decades. I’m happy to be joining next Media, not as a full time employee, because primarily I’m employed by Tugende, a financial services company as Manager corporate affairs and public relations,” Mwanguhya told our reporter Andrew Irumba when called for a comment.

Charles Mwanguhya has been a journalist and analyst at Nation Media Group’s The Monitor and NTV Uganda. He’s actually been hosting ‘The Fourth Estate’ weekly talk show, where he has been hosting journalists to discuss major topics of the week. He has also been a regular panelist to speedest (by mouth👄 not 🦵 leg) radio talk show host, Andrew Mujuni Mwenda, from Kanyandahi, Fort Portal. Mpagi too is a  mutooro from Burahya, Kabarole District, just like Mwenda.

According to our sources at Naguru based Next Media Park, after Sabiiti’s notice of departure, management started hunting for a replacement and considering that Mwanguhya had been lobbying, he was eventually given green light to take over the show.

However, TheSpy Uganda has learnt that Mwanguhya has not been hired as a full-time worker but will be paid per show which happens every Thursday.

The frontline show airs every Thursday from 10pm to midnight as panelists discuss political, social and economic events that happen in Uganda and across the world. It’s permanent panelists include DP president Norbert Mao and Government mouth piece Ofwono Podel Opondo aka OO.

NBS TV confirmed the news of Mwanguhya’s arrival through social media as they welcomed the celebrated political analyst.

NBS TV tweeted, “OFFICIAL; Charles Mwanguhya is now a Transformer. Welcome to the #NBSFrontline team.”
