Fresh Kid who passed entry exams in distinctions reported on Thursday from his former school ready to tackle the books from P.2. He promised the administration of the school, manager and his parents to be a good boy at school.
Fresh Kid’s blessing manifested more a few weeks ago when the Ruparelia Foundation granted him a fully funded scholarship with scholastic materials that will help him study from P.2 until he sits his Primary Leaving Exams.
Fresh Kid’s scholarship includes Shs500,000 for the school uniform and other scholastic materials. Mr.Rajiv Ruparelia, the group’s managing director, made the announcement after meeting Fresh Kid with his manager Francis Kamoga and parents at his office in Kampala. Rajiv said that “The foundation offered him a scholarship after identifying his talent, which he has shown in his early years.” Daphne Kato, the Principal of KPS said that “Fresh Kid’s manager and parents should ensure that he reports to school daily. Not these things of coming only once a week and the rest of the days he is nowhere to be seen.”
His parents thanked Rajiv and the administration of Kampala Parents School for granting Fresh Kid an opportunity to study. Fresh Kid has made himself a name in his early years as a young musician whose music has attracted many people, both old and young. He has inspired many Ugandans including the young generation to use their talents to develop themselves and their homes. It should be noted that during an interview last month Fresh Kid said that “The public should stop doubting me about my education. I always go to school and after school that’s when I do music.” Last month State Minister for Youth and Children’s affairs Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi urged the young singer to stop performing and concentrate on his education, something that sparked off a backlash on social media. She later advised that Fresh Kid performs only on weekends and not in bars.
