After doing a successful job with young rapper Patrick Senyonjo aka Fresh Kid, Rajiv Ruparelia, the managing director of Kampala Parents School (KPS), has embarked on a campaign to nurture and promote the musical talent of Uganda’s youngest female rapper Faith Nanyanzi aka Felista Di Superstar.
Spy Uganda has learnt that Ruparelia Foundation boss, Rajiv, on Monday, February 30, offered to sponsor rapper Felista Di Superstar throughout her primary education, just like it’s the case with Fresh kid.
Rajiv, through their family’s Ruparelia Foundation, unveiled Felista to Kampala Parents School and announced that he had offered her a full-study scholarship up to primary seven.
Felista Di Superstar is a young 8-year-old Ugandan female rapper and newest on the music block.
She is being raised by a single father who supports her talent and she recently released a tune titled ‘Nawambye’, her first single which is doing well on local and international airwaves.
The signing was attended by School’s lawyers, Spice Diana, gospel star Levixone, who has been nurturing Felista’s talent, among others.
Levixone thanked God for the opportunity Rajiv has given to Felista He also thanked the founders of Kampala Parents and advised other parents to support their children especially when talent is spotted.
Rajiv said that “The Ruparelia Foundation is ready to sponsor primary education for the seven-year-old rapper at Kampala Parents School, while giving her an opportunity to build her talent.”
He thanked the founders of Kampala Parents School, Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia and trustees for supporting the cause. He referred to them as ‘Bravo Shoes who came on board to give a hand. He also thanked the music fraternity for discovering, promoting and nurturing Felista’s musical journey.
He added that Felista was joining a model school which creates more opportunities and advised her to participate in all co-curricular activities.
“Education is not about learning in the book; education is about learning life skills that will help you live in the future that will help you when you are old. We shall ensure you learn how to avail your discipline, learn how to be confident and we shall make sure that all we offer to you will help grow your music carrier,” Rajiv said.
He added that “Lastly, I would advise Felista’s parents to save what they’ve been paying from another school such that that money helps her in secondary.”
It should be noted that in April last year Rajiv announced that KPS was going to sponsor rapper Fresh Kid to a full scholarship till he completes primary seven at the same school.
Rajiv said then he was moved by Fresh Kid’s ambition of being one of the biggest musicians in Uganda at only seven years old.
He noted that “I would love to see him become a guide and inspiration to many young people out there hence, Ruparelia Foundation is presenting this young man with a full scholarship from the Ruparelia Foundation to go to Kampala Parents School.”
At the end of his first year at KPS, Fresh Kid surprised many when he topped his class.
