During the foundation-laying ceremony, Kariisa emphasized his deep connection to Rubare, where he was born 48 years ago, and highlighted his mother’s significant influence on his life. He was accompanied by his family, including his wife, Julie Kariisa, his children, and his brother, Chairman Mohammed Kariisa. The family expressed their commitment to giving back to the community that nurtured them.

The new maternity ward is expected to significantly improve maternal healthcare in Rubare and surrounding areas, offering modern facilities and enhanced access to critical health services for mothers and newborns. This initiative is part of a broader effort by the Kariisa family, through the Kariisa Foundation, to uplift Ntungamo District. Previous projects include the construction of a library at Ruhaama Secondary School, a mosque, and various other community-focused endeavors.

Community leaders and residents have commended the Kariisa family for their dedication, noting that the new facility will provide safer childbirth experiences and better healthcare outcomes for generations to come.
