West Nile Province progressed to the semifinals of FUFA Drum after edging Kampala Province 2-0 in the return leg at Coffee Grounds Buggolobi. The first leg in West Nile had ended 4-0 which means it was 6-0 on aggregate.
Ahmed Amayo found the back to he net for the visitors in the 52nd minute before Ibrahim Dada sealed the victory for the West Nile.
Elsewhere, Viane Sekajjugo’s brace wasn’t enough to save Buganda from Acholi Province and the game ended in a stalemate 2-2 but Acholi advanced on aggregate 4-3 since the first leg had ended 2-1 in favor of Acholi.
Sekajjugo broke the deadlock for Buganda in the 11th minute but Denis Ojara equalised for Acholi in the 24th minute before Sekajjugo completed his brace eight minutes later.
Coming into the second half, the visitors pushed hard but it was until the stoppage time that Dominic Ayella broke the hearts of the hosts with an equaliser making the game 2-2 which meant Buganda would be eliminated on aggregate.
Provinces which have qualified for the semifinals are now Tooro, Acholi, West Nile and Lango waiting know the draws.
