FUFA Women Elite League: SHE Maroons Send Signal In Comprehensive Win Over Echoes WFC

SHE Maroons WFC should their intentions of winning this year’s FUFA Women Elite League in their first game of Group D on Tuesday at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.

A brilliant display saw the Prison Warders humiliate Soroti based Echoes WFC, winning the game 6-1 to take early lead in Group D.

Sharp striker Millicent Namwembe orchestrated the damage, scoring a hat trick on the day, the third in the season.

Midfielder Kautharah Naluyima netted a brace while second half substitute Winnie Kyomugisha put the icing on the cake with the sixth goal.

The consolation for Echoes FC came midway in the first half Shilla Amadit.

Namwembe opened the scores as early as the 10th minute with a neat finish inside the area before Naluyima doubled the lead three minutes later.

By halftime, SHE Maroons FC led 3-0 with Namwembe adding the other. She completed her hat trick a minute into the second stanza.

Naluyima and Kyomugisha added the other two goals to ensure SHE Maroons complete the rout.

SHE Maroons will return to action on Tuesday against Wakiso Hills while Echoes FC will take on Lango Queens.
