Kampala: Maj Gen Gregory Mugisha Muntu, a 2021 Presidential aspirant on Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) ticket,  is up in arms against the Electoral Commission over failure to allow  the commencement of vital political activities within his party.

The ANT party’s electoral road map released recently indicates that they planned to hold their first Delegates Conference on August 6, which is two weeks from now.

According to Muntu, ANT agents presented a video clip to the Electoral Commission showing the huge crowds in Kampala’s Central Business district, a number bigger than what the Delegates Conference intends to attract. Adding that a conference of this nature cannot be dangerous to participants in any way if all Standard Operating Procedures are followed.

The party presidential flag bearer further said that they have secured a venue that will enable them  hold a meeting of all delegates in an open space, where people will follow all World Health Organization and Ministry of Health guidelines on COVID-19 prevention.
