Rines SS WFC and FC Tooro Queens each picked their first win this season, defeating Kawempe Muslim Ladies and Uganda Martyrs WFC respectively.
In the games played on Tuesday, Rines SS WFC defied odds to nick three points off Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC at their own backyard.
On the other hand, Tooro Queens who had seen all their opening five games ending in stalemates eventually got victory, overcoming Uganda Martyrs in Lubaga.
Sumaya Komuntale who features for Uganda U20 Women’s National Team and the Crested Cranes scored the lone goal for the Country Queens.
The left footed defender fired home in the 19th minute and this eventually turned out to be the decisive moment of the game.
The win moved Tooro Queens up to 4th position on 8 points in 5 games. Uganda Martyrs on the other hand dropped to 7th position with 6 points from 4 games.
Rines SS WFC also picked their maiden win this season, thanks to Yasmeen Nalukwago’s solitary strike that guided them past Kawempe Muslim.
Victory lifted Rines out of the drop zone and now occupy 8th place with 5 points.
