Uganda Cranes lost 3-2 to South Africa during an international build-up match played at the Orlando Stadium on Thursday, 10th June 2021.

Ibrahim Orit and second-half substitute Abdul Lumala found the goals for Uganda Cranes in a match played under closed doors because of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Bongokuhle Hlongwane and substitute Evidence Makgopa (brace) replied for the hosts.

Orit gave Uganda Cranes with a diving header off a telling cross from the right by team captain Emmanuel Arnold Okwi in the 18th minute.

Hlongwane found the equalizer for Bafana Bafana, a few minutes into the second half.

Makgopa then gave the hosts the lead and moments later doubled the advantage to build a two goal lead.

Lumala reduced the deficit to make it 3-2 for the visitors and grant the closing minutes of the game a tense ending.

The game is preparing the two countries for the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
