Hard Work Pays: Uganda Airlines CEO Bamuturaki Scoops ‘Top 100 Africa Travel Women Award’

No fewer than 100 travel professionals from different countries in Africa will converge in Lagos to be honoured having emerged winners of the 2022 edition of Africa 100 Travel Women Awards. They are African women from 20 countries who have excelled in areas such as Tourism Leadership, Travel and Tours, Aviation, Hospitality, Conservation and Media.

Among these great women include Jenifer Bamuturaki, the Chief Executive Officer of Uganda Airlines, but previously as the Airline’s Commercial Director responsible for Commercial, Sales & Marketing, scheduling and network planning end-to-end management and sales and service support to all markets and countries of operation.

She also worked for Air Uganda and East African Airlines.

Bamuturaki has over 20 years of experience in Commercial, Sales & Marketing direction in the Aviation, Travel and Hospitality industries. Her wealth of expertise is building teams, developing strategic resellers relationships, negotiations and route development.

She has also served as Sales and Marketing Director of International Hotel Brands.

Bamuturaki is also Social Scientist with certifications from IATA, Starwood and other leadership and professional training.

The organiser of the event, Ikechi Uko, says the Africa Travel 100 Women awards will be held at Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos on October 31, 2022 as part of the 18th Akwaaba African Travel Market.

First held in 2017, the Africa Travel 100 Women Awards recognises African women who have excelled in travel and tourism.
