Hoima: The State House Anti-Corruption head, Col.Edith Nakalema has Tuesday presented to Chief Magistrate Court in Hoima District LC5 Chairperson, Kirungi Kadiri, his Vice Chiche Benson and 2 other councillors yet to be known over illegal hiring of government properties.
Court presided over by Chief Magistrate Opio James charged the 4 suspects: Hoima district LC5 Chairperson, Karungi Kadiri – the Vice, Chiche Benson and two(2) other councillors with 2 accounts – forgery & conspiracy to commit to a felony.

The court granted them a cash bail of Ugx 1.5m each and Ugx 10m non-cash bail to the sureties. They will appear again in court on the 13th/10/2021. (https://getdelmar.com/)
The suspects were arrested on Aug 27, 2021, by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit working with Uganda Police. Nakelema revealed that the group brazenly hired out Government roadworks’ equipment to a private farmer in Kaduuhi village, Kiryandongo district and used the funds to wet their ever-thirsty beaks.
