Kakumiro: Police have put to custody a 27-year-old man alledged to have killed his wife after coming home late.
Wilber Tindimwebwa a resident of Kyarujumba village, Kakindo Sub County in Kakumiro district was arrested by Police in the wee hours of Saturday October 5 after an alert that he hacked to death Jackline Twizerimaana (wife) to death after returning home late.
Nelson Luvama, the Officer in Charge of Criminal Investigations at Kakindo police station, said Tindimwebwa hacked his wife Jacqueline Twizerimaana to death in the wee hours of Saturday morning.
He reportedly accused the deceased of returning home at around 3 Am on Saturday morning after leaving their home at 10am on Friday.
It is not clear where Twizerimana was coming from in the wee hours of Saturday morning.
The suspect lost his cool and hacked the deceased severally on the head, face and neck.
Police dashed to the scene and arrested Tindimwebwa, who was later whisked oof to Kakindo police post awaiting to be transferred to Kakumiro police station.
Luvama added that the suspect will appear in court for murder once their inquiries are done.
Police have since handed over the deceased’s body to relatives for burial
