Horror As Prostitute Kills Don Ivan Ssemwanga’s Protege In South Africa

By Spy Uganda

South Africa: The Ugandan Community in South Africa has been engulfed in horror and shock after a sex worker in Gauteng Province, South Africa, allegedly masterminded the murder of a Ugandan man identified as Dennis William Kyazze, 36.

According to sources in Pretoria, Kyazze, who was late Ivan Ssemwanga’s protege, was murdered by men hired by his lover only identified as Linda, who is a South African national, on Thursday morning, but she hid his body until Friday evening when it was discovered by friends who had gone to check on him.

It is said that Kyazze and Linda  had a hardware store in Pretoria, Gautenga, which they were running together. However, on Wednesday, his friends realized that he was not at the shop  but the girlfriend was there. On asking her where he was, she told  them that she did not. The same thing happened on Thursday and Friday.

When his friends realized that Kyazze had been missing for days at his shop they decided to go to his apartment to check on him and it was there that they found his lifeless body,  with a huge wound on the head, stuffed under the bed, with his lover seated on the bed.

They tried to interrogate her about what had happened to Kyazze but she kept shedding crocodile tears, without telling him who had killed him or what had happened to him.

However, during the scuffle, one of the neighbours, who preferred anonymity, revealed that Kyazze’s lover was cheating on him with a policeman and that the said policeman had gone to his apartment on Wednesday night and battered him badly, after which they left. Since then he had never been seen again until his body was recovered.

However, at the time of filing this article the Ugandan Community in South Africa was still mourning his death and doing preparations to bury him there, after efforts by his family members in Uganda to repatriate the body  hitting a snag due to the COVID-109 lockdown at Entebbe International Airport.

Who Is Kyazze

Born in Jjanda, Zirobwe, Luwero District Kyazze lost his father in National resistance Army (NRA) war led by current President Yoweri Museveni.

He was raised by his mother who paid his school fees at Makerere High School, after which he joined Makerere University where he graduated with Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She later passed away in 2000.

On completing his studies at Makerere University, Kyazze started looking for a job to earn a living and support his immediate family.

Luckily, in 2003, Kyazze was taken to South Africa by deceased businessman Ivan Ssemwanga, who however passed away a few years ago in South Africa too, under mysterious circumstances.

Kyazze briefly worked as a teacher in South Africa before venturing into hardware business. At the time of his death, Kyazze was financially stable due to a steady revenue stream from the two hardware shops he owned in Gauteng, Pretoria.

Kyazze’s Murder

Some other sources alleged that Kyazze, who was living with Linda, 22, a South African national, was mugged by thugs who attacked him at his apartment last week. He was hospitalized for five days.

After being discharged, Kyazze returned home to recuperate from injuries sustained in the attack. Interestingly, a few days later, Kyazze disappeared from his hardware store and his residence, which raised eyebrows among his friends and neighbours.

After not being able to reach Kyazze, a relative on the night of June 18 went to check on him at his place of residence.

“It is reported that the relative found his brother’s girlfriend, the suspect, at the residence while his relative’s lifeless body was found under the bed, with injuries on the upper body,” South African Police spokesperson Capt Kay Makhubele said.

According to South African media, Makhubele said police were called to the scene and arrested the woman after she failed to explain what had happened to her boyfriend.

She was on Monday expected to appear in the Pretoria magistrate’s court but she didn’t.
