When Ekochu delayed returning home, his wife Jocelyn Ekochu launched a search along the path Ekochu had taken before she later came across her husband’s abandoned hat and later found the body was a plantation and the staff he had bought taken away.
Besides his relationship with Mukula, Ekochu is an elder brother to Paul Ekochu, the Chairman of the Media Council.
He is also related to Betty Ekochu who worked for USAID as well as Prof Edward Ekochu who works in the UK as an agriculturalist.
An auditor by training, Ekochu’s father is the late Jonathan Ekochu, a former Principal Private Secretary to Apollo Milton Obote II and Idi Amin.
Jonathan Ekochu also worked at State House under Godfrey Binaisa’s Military Council before serving at the Civil Service Commission during Obote II as well as the Public Service Commission under Museveni’s NRM government.
Ekochu will be laid to rest at Omodoi in Asureti Sub County in Soroti and other details are yet to be communicated.
