Hundreds Throng Forest Mall To Grace Teso-Kampala Carnival, Revelers Walk In Italics After Drowning In Adere!

Hundreds of Itesots family and friends on Saturday caused uncontrollable jam along Lugogo By-pass as they thronged Lugogo forest mall to attend what has now become their annual main event of the year from the Teso sub-region dubbed Teso carnival.

Unlike the first two editions that were held in Kireka, this year’s event came closer to Kampala City, Forest mall building Lugogo to enable the ‘wise’ sons and daughters of the land take part.

The event that was graced by who is who from the Teso had its gates open wide from as early as 2pm going to late night at around midnight.

Hundreds could be seen walking in italics after taking one too much of adere, a traditional liquor.

They were later joined by beautiful Miss Tourism Teso former contestants who kept men pocketing all the way pretending to be posing.

Mr.Isaac Olupot, the chief organizer of the night’s event who kept on smiling from eye to eyes all night, when asked to shade more light about the event, he said the carnival was initiated by the Iteso at Heart whatsApp group members on November 2015 to among others unite the Itesos, promote and preserve their cultures as well as exchange business ideas with the rest of the country who would attend the event.

On Jan 16th 2016, Our members sat for a summit at Eastern route hotel to discuss how Teso’s culture and development can be revived, many resolutions were penned down but TESO- Kampala carnival took the day. The Kasilo County Member of Parliament, Hon Elijah Okupa vowed to make the next year’s edition of the Carnival marvelous with lots of projects awaiting to be launched.
