Shame has befallen boastful Jinja Resident District Commissioner (RDC) James Eric Sakwa, after he was arrested over the death of a businessman and theft of merchandise worth millions of shillings, which included several cartons of Waragi.

This website has established that following his arrest, Sakwa has since been remanded to Kirinya prison until May 13, 2020 by Her Worship Happy Ann Kobusingye, after he was charged with manslaughter, causing the death of Isanga Charles, theft of Empire waragi worth Shs400, 000 among other crimes.

Sakwa faces the charges together with Bumali Kazimbyewa alias Chris Umar Dindodi, 19, a mechanic and Mohammed Simba alias Meddie, 31, and a businessman in Jinja.

According to the charge sheet presented to Jinja Magistrate’s Court, it is alleged that between March 22 and April 17 this year at Lwanda Village in Jinja District, Sakwa unlawfully caused the death of Charles Isanga.

Ever since he was appointed as RDC in 2018, Sakwa has been outspoken in security operations, and enforcing of public order law.

Prosecution alleges that Sakwa and his accomplices allegedly stole Shs80,000, three crates of beer, eight trays of eggs, sachets of Empire Waragi and soda all valued at approximately Shs. 429,000 all property of the said Isanga. (ionizerresearch)
It’s also alleged that Bazimbyewa and Simba who are separately charged with malicious damage to property willfully and unlawfully, damaged a glass counter of Isanga, although they all denied the charges.

They will return to court for another mention of their case when investigations into the matter are completed.
It should be noted that the same Sakwa allegedly caused the arrest and torture of renowned Jinja pastor Andrew Muwanguzi, who is a staunch supporter of People Power movement leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine, after they disagreed during a radio talk show.
