ICT Minister Tumwebaze To Officiate At 8th UCC Consumers’ Parliament In Masaka

Minister for Information Communication Technology (ICT) & National guidance Hon.Frank Kagyigi Tumwebaze (Amooti), who doubles as Kibale county Member of parliament (MP) will officiate at the 8th Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) consumers’ parliament (CCP8), slated for this 29th March 2019 at Brovad Hotel, Masaka Districk.

According to UCC’s Executive Director Eng.Godfrey Mutabazi, this year’s consumers’ parliament that starts at 8:30am-2pm, under the theme; ‘Trusted Smart Products’, will bring together all key line Government officials, Regulators, Service Providers, Academia, Consumers’ Advocacy Organizations, Media, and direct consumers to discuss issues related to communication services in the country with a view of forging together, possible ways of improving on the services for better ‘co-existence’.

The platform, a brain child of the communications regulator headed by Eng.Godfrey Mutabazi and team aims at getting feedback directly from the consumers of the telecommunications products at various levels.

Among the key stakeholders officially invited to make presentations on this auspicious event is National Association of Broadcasters’ (NAB) Chairman Mr.Kin Kariisa, who doubles as CEO Next media group, a conglomerate that runs NBS Television, Nxt radio, Salaam  and  Sanyuka TVs among others.

The week long consumer protection campaign begun Monday 18th Mar and will cover Nyendo,Bukakata,Kakuto,Lukaya and Matete markets  before it culminates into public parliament on 29th.

Officials from UCC will also conduct interactive and sensitization talk shows on Suubi and Buddu Fm radios to drum up for the final event. Follow full programme below…
