Istanbul, Turkey: Foreign Affairs State Minister, Okello Oryem yesterday said that National Unity Platform (NUP) leaning blogger, Fred Lumbuye is set to be deported back to Uganda today and on arrival will face the courts of law on various charges including spreading hate speech and sectarianism amongst other charges.
However, Mityana legislator also NUP member, Zaake Francis Butebi who is currently in Turkey on a mission of setting their blogger free from country’s custody, has called on all Ugandans to disregard the Minister’s statements saying that’s government’s propaganda aimed at destructing and weakening people’s hearts.
”Disregard all the regime orchestrated narrative that comrade Lumbuye is pending deportation. All this is packaged to suit their extradition narrative,” says Zaake via his Facebook page.
Revealing how ready they are to fail Ugandan government’s wish of deporting Lumbuye, Zaake says that both their Ugandan and international human rights defenders are doing all the best to block possible ways of seeing Lumbuye back to Uganda.
”However the reality on ground is that joint efforts between our diaspora comrades and an international human rights lawyer are underway to block the extradition treaty that the Dictator and his accomplices are advocating for,” says Zaake.
In the same vein, Zaake says contrary to what has been reported, blogger Lumbuye is not arrested for breaking any laws of the host country, but on orders of Ugandan President Museveni who previously ordered for the arrest of all social media misusers who announced him dead recently pointing at Lumbuye as one of them.
”Whereas it’s true that Turkish authorities are holding comrade Lumbuye in their custody on orders of the Dictator himself, it is not true that he was arrested for breaching any laws of his host country. This is rather a personal fight spearheaded by the dictator himself,” says Zaake before adding;
