India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address Parliament during his visit to Uganda next week, the Deputy Speaker Jacob Oulanyah has announced.
Mr Oulanyah revealed this while chairing the House on Tuesday afternoon.
Mr Modi, will address Parliament at 10:00am, on Wednesday July 25, 2018.
The Deputy Speaker said that President Yoweri Museveni will accompany his visiting colleague to Parliament.
Oulanyah implored lawmakers to turn up early enough ahead of Mr Modi’s arrival at Parliament.
All staff and MPs have been asked by the Deputy Speaker to ensure they drive away on July 23, 2018 so as security can take over the Premises ahead of the Indian Head of State’s visit.
Deputy speaker Oulanyah said that on Tuesday July 24, 2018, a day before the impending address, no vehicle will be allowed at Parliament.
He also announced that the House will not sit on Tuesday to allow the Clerk and security personnel carryout their work ahead of the Wednesday sitting.
Mr Modi will fly into the country on July 24, 2018 and will be hosted by President Museveni at State House Entebbe.
