Indian Association Of Uganda Commended For Boosting Uganda’s Economy Since 1922, To Celebrate 100yrs Of Existence This Year

Ahead of 2022 celebrations of their 100 years of existence, the Indian Association of Uganda has been commended for boosting Uganda’s economy since 1922.

Deputy Speaker of Parliament Thomas Tayebwa says since 1920’s, the Association has been one of the largest tax payer. He revealed these in a meeting with the Association Chairman Mr. G.N.Mohana Rao.

“This afternoon, I received the Chairman of the Indian Association of Uganda, Mr. G.N.Mohana Rao in my office who presented to me a peace statue. The Indian Association of Uganda is one of our largest Tax payers since 1922. They are marking 100 years of existence this year,” said Tayebwa adding,”I thank them for the contribution they are making towards the growth of our economy.”

In celebration of 100 years, the chairman said, they are doing 100 heart surgeries for Ugandan children in India of which nine have so far been completed.

TheSpy Uganda understands that last month the Association also sent off 12 patients to SRCC children hospital in India for heart surgery with the support of Rotary international and the High Commission of India in Uganda.

The Association is also organizing an African Business Meeting in Uganda that will include investors from all 54 African countries along with ex-Ugandan Indians from UK, Canada together with Indian investors from India. Their aim is to attract investors,introduce Uganda all over the world and presenting them opportunities of investment in Uganda.
