Indians In Uganda Sponsor 102 UG Children For Heart Operation In India

Established in 1922 as a charitable Organization, to among others focus on the welfare of Ugandans in area of Health and Education, Indian Association of Uganda is sponsoring more 15 Ugandan children under the age of 14 yrs to India for heart surgery for 2018 intake, the management announced on Wednesday.

These will join the 87 children already on treatment in India under the same programme.

Many Ugandans children and adults have lost lives due to heart problems, partly because of inadequate money to take patients to India and other foreign countries for treatment since Uganda is yet to have adequate heart surgery machines facilities.

By coming up to fully sponsor the medical bills of the heart patients, Indians are answering and responding to one of Uganda’s biggest challenges the Gov’t is still grappling with.

According to the statement, qualifying candidates were asked to contact the secretariat not late than 31st August 2018,and should have their medical reports including recent ‘Echo report’ not more than 6 months old attached for quick response.

Only those with all medical and recent Echo reports of not more than 6 months can be helped if they apply to Indian Association Uganda office before 31st August 2018.
