Family members and friends in media fraternity are on tenterhooks after learning the kidnap of Stanley Ndawula a senior investigative journalist and Chief Executive Officer at The Investigator News, an online media outlet.

According to one of his family members Robert Ndawula, Stanley is believed to have been picked by ISO operatives on the instructions of boss Col.Kaka Bagyenda.

Other Sources said Ndawula had got chilling information against the security of running a safe house in Kyengera that was torturing suspects.

“We are demanding for the security operatives to release with immediate effect or even tell us where is detained at and on which offences,”his brother Robert Ndawula said

The coordinator of Human Rights Network For Journalists-Uganda Robert Ssempala said in the morning that Ndawula was kidnapped on Friday night by unknown people at around midnight.

He was leaving a joint in Bukoto, a Kampala suburb.

“It is alleged he was arrested by Internal Security Organisation [ISO] operatives. It’s not known why he was arrested. His whereabouts remain unknown,” he said.

He added “Ndawula has for a long time been involved in investigative reporting into crimes committed within the security force”.

Last year, Stanley and his brother Robert Ndawula were arrested, detained at Kira road police and later charged with disturbing peace of former Inspector General of Police Gen Kale Kayihura . But the case was dismissed after Kayihura lost interest in the case .
