It’s Do Or Die In Arua By Elections: Bobi Wine Survives Assassination As Driver Is Shot Dead!

Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi popularly known as Bobi Wine survived assassination why a whisker on Monday evening in Arua Town but instead his driver, Yasin Kawuma was shot on reportedly mistaken identity!

Just a few minutes after the unfortunate incident, Bobi Wine went on his personal twitter handle and posted thus; “Police has shot my driver dead thinking they’ve shot at me. My hotel is now cordoned off by police and SFC”.

TheSpy Uganda has learnt that minutes after learning that Bobi Wine was instead in a hotel, police and SCF swung in action and cordoned off his Hotel and finally him, together with Hon.Gerald Karuhanga (Ntungamo),Paul Mwiru (Jinja), Kassim and three others youth yet to be identified.

Yasin was driving Bobi Wine’s tundra car before he was abruptly sent to his creator.

Arua municipality was declared vacant after the gruesome assassination of Col.Ibrahim Abiriga in June 2018 in Kawanda, a Kampala surbab.

The hitherto peaceful election descended into chaos on Monday evening as supporters of different candidates retired to their different offices in Arua Town after a hectic day of final campaigns.

Supporters of Independent candidate Kassiano Wadri, whom Bobi Wine is backing, and those of NRM’s Nusura Tiperu clashed when they met on Inzikuru street, prompting soldiers of the Special Forces Command (SFC) to fire at the former’s supporters.

Wadri’s supporters also retaliated by pelting stones at the soldiers and in the ensuing melee, Bobi Wine’s driver was shot dead.

Bobi Wine later shared pictures of the accident, claiming that he was the target and that his hotel had been cordoned off pending his arrest. Police and other security sources later confirmed of his arrest.

A day to the final campaigns, police had brought in several water cannons, tear gas trucks and hundreds of police personnel. During a press briefing on Monday, the regional police commander, Jonathan Musinguzi said they were more than prepared to counter any violence that would erupt.

Meanwhile,president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s official car was pelted stones at and his rear glass completely shuttered while driving out of a campaign rally from Arua. It’s not clear yet if the incident is directly to the shooting of Bobi Wine’s driver.
