It is not yet over between songbird Sheebah Karungi and her former manager cum boss Jeff Kiwanuka aka Jeff Kiwa, who heads the Team No Sleep (TNS) music label.
It should be noted that Sheebah quit Jeff Kiwa’s TNS group early this year and started up her own label called ‘Sheebah Establishments Limited,’ which she wanted to handle marketing and promotion for her music projects.
However, latest info reaching us from Sheebah’s camp is that Jeff has since frustrated all her efforts to record music under Sheebah Establishments Limited and even compelled the singer to feature the TNS label in all her new songs.
This has been evidenced in Sheebah’s latest song titled ‘Nakyuka’, in which she features the TNS label and even mentions the group at the start of the song, something that has left many of her fans wondering why she keeps promoting Jeff Kiwa’s label despite the fact that she quit.
But our Spies reveal that the main reason why Sheebah is compelled to mention ‘TNS’ in all her new songs is that when she signed a contract with Jeff Kiwa, she surrendered the label ‘Sheebah’ to TNS and henceforth became a property of Jeff Kiwa.
In fact when she walked away from TNS early this year, it is said that Jeff gave her a condition that the only way she could survive without him was forfeiting all the benefits she acquired when she was still signed to his label, which include the House in Muyenga, all the songs she recorded under TNS and the brand ‘Sheebah’, because they are all company property.
He also reportedly set a condition that she could only continue singing under the brand ‘Sheebah’ if she accepted to promote the label TNS, reason why she has to feature it in all her songs, until the contract she signed with Jeff Kiwa expires.
Before Jeff signed up Sheebah, she was a struggling artiste following her breakaway from Ronnie Mulindwa’s Obsessions group, which was a music and dance group that included girls like Sharon O, Cleopatra Koheirwe, Jackie Tusiime, Natasha Sinayobye, among others.
