Jubilation As Speke Resort, Commonwealth Resort Munyonyo Scoop International Awards

Members and staff of the Ruparelia Group of Companies are in jubilating mood after two of their hotels scooped international awards over the weekend.

TheSpy Uganda has learnt that Speke Resort Munyonyo and Commonwealth Resort Munyonyo, owned by tycoon Sudhir Ruparelia under the Ruparelia Group,  won the World Luxury Hotel Awards 2019.

Our Spy in the Ruparelia Group reveals that Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort Hotel was recognised as the Best Lakeside Luxury Resort hotel and Conference Centre in East Africa, while  Speke Resort and Conference Centre was voted 2019’s  best Luxury Lakeside Resort in the African continent.

This development came after the hotels received  two certificates signed off by Brandon Lourens, the Chairman and CEO of World Luxury Hotel Awards, recognizing them for their world class services.

Experts in the hotel industry reveal that the awards aim at recognizing the sustained commitment to excellence in hoteliering and outstanding achievement in the international luxury hospitality industry.

Seated on about 90 acres of of prime land Speke Resort, which started in 2001, has become one of the world’s luxurious destinations, which is flocked by  thousands of people annually for business, accommodation and recreational purposes.

Boasting of over 472 rooms divided into seven categories, the hotel consists of five restaurants, two bars, gym, two swimming pools, steam sauna, spa, squash court, business centre, boat ride and horse ride in the hotel. 

The  facility hosted the prestigious Royal Ascot Goat race 2019, which attracted thousands of revellers from all walls of life, who included politicians, businessmen, socialites, diplomats, to mention but a few.

Commonwealth Resort Munyonyo on the other hand hosted the 64th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference, which was attended by over 200 delegates from around the world.
