Kampala: Total workforce has resumed at the prestigious Kampala Parents School on Tuesday, after the teaching staff and non teaching staff met and interructed with their top boss, Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia, the propriator of the recording breaking school.
Teachers and non teaching staff laid off their tools last friday raising a number of concerns, which they tycoon has since ably resoved in a win-win atmosphere.
“We, the staff, both teaching and non-teaching sfaff of Kampala Parents’ School 2004,hereby inform you, our dear parents that the sit-down strike that has been going on since Friday last week, has come to a logical end. After a series of meetings and interactios with different stake holders, our griviances have largesly been attened to, for those that were short term, and good strategies have been laid for those that were long term. We now call upon you now for the resumption of normal learning tomorrow 27, November, 2024, and then examination for wnd of year on Thursday, 28, and 29,Novermber 2024,” partly reads the jointly signed communique by the staff representatives issued on Tuesday afternoon.
In a series of meetings involving all stakeholders, they resolved their differences and undertook to resume normal operations.
“We have honorably committed ourselves to the course of education and that is education first and the rest later. However, as mature and responsible people we reached an understanding and we have promised to look into the issues brought forward by staff” Ms Daphine Kato, the Principal of the school told our Spy reporter via phone interview.
Teachers at the School were seeking for revisioin of their salaries with a request for an inrement. They also showed concern over delayed salaries, to whihc the tycoon pleged to handle all their issues with utmost urgency.
