Kampala: The Prime Minister of Buganda Kingdom Charles Peter Mayiga has categorically rubbised rumors that the King (Kabaka) of Buganda Ronald Edward Frederick Kimera Muwenda Mutebi II was poisoned and that, he is currently unwell in a Nairobi Hospital battling for his sweet life.
Mayiga, while addressing the press today in Mengo, the administration center of the Kingdom, he rubbished the rumors that have since been circulating on social media that Muteesa 11’s son Mutebi was poisoned and rushed to Kenya’s Aga Khan Hospital few days ago, saying that the King is safe and sound.
“The Kabaka of Buganda Kingdom Ronald Muwenda Mutebi is not sick or hospitalized as it has been rumored on social media, the King is fully in charge of the monarchy” Mayiga said.

Katikiro further explained on his twitter handle that, Many people were worried due to rumors that have been circulating on social media about Kabaka’s health. “I would like to inform the Kabaka’s subjects and Ugandans at large that the King is safe and not hospitalized. Instead, he is ruling,” he said.
Mayiga also appealed to King’s subjects to always look out for information regarding the affairs of the Kingdom, only through Kingdom’s official channels.
Mayiga’s address came after reports circulated on different social media platforms over the weekend alleging that the reigning Kabaka had been rushed to Aga Khan Hospital in the neighboring Kenya after his health deteriorated as a result of alleged poisoning.
The rumors were also backed by a voice note from individuals who claimed to be Kabaka Mutebi’s relatives that were demanding to know the health status of their King.
