Kampala: President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has again strongly warned police officers to stop corruption practices which he believes is the booster of continuous mis-cooperation between the force and citizens something that would deepen the country into insecurity.

Museveni made these warnings over the weekend as he met senior police officers that were led by the newly-appointed Deputy Inspector General of Police Maj Gen Paul Lokech, at State House Entebbe.

After the meeting, Museveni revealed what he shared with the police chiefs tweeting thus;

“Met senior police officers led by Deputy IGP, Gen Paul Loketch, at State House Entebbe. I have strongly warned them against involvement in corrupt practices. Corruption in the Police Force should stop.”
Museveni added thus; “The police should heed my earlier communication on proper methods of arresting suspects, handling citizens and foreign guests. Do not harass, beat, push or bark at wanainchi for whatever reason.”
President’s meeting with Police Officers followed another one where he met senior UPDF officers which according to our spy the agenda rotated around the security of the country.
