Uganda Peoples Defence Forces (UPDF) has on Thursday evening finally comeout and confirmed that Former Inspector General of Police Gen.Kale Kayihura is no longer a free man! The forces Spokesperson Brig.Richard Kalemire confirmed in his communication to the world that ‘Kale’is currently detained at Makyindye Military barracks.
Kayihura was picked by a military chopper on Wednesday morning from his up country home in Lyantonde and airlifted to Mbuya defence headquarters for questioning.
While responding to the situation surrounding the Embattled General, Karemire confirmed that Kayihura is only allowed to be visited by his lawyers and close family members.
“The General was indeed flown to Kampala from his farm in Kashagama – Lyantonde District and is being questioned on a matter the details of which cannot at this point be divulged,” said Karemire on Thursday in a letter issued on Thursday evening.
“He is currently at Makindye Military Barracks and accessible by his immediate family as well as his lawyers. The media will be informed about any other developments regarding the matter,” concluded Karemire.
Though UPDF has not yet come pout to give reasons for his detention, impeccable sources claim the gruesome murders of a number of personalities especially late AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesi are top on the list of what KK must clearly answer to.
