Gen. Kahinda Otafiire the minister for Justice and constitutional affairs has asked the inspector General of Police Gen. Kale Kayihura and Security Minister, Let.Gen. Henry Tumukunde to settle their misunderstandings amicably so they work for development of Uganda.

The two generals currently don’t see eye to eye and their fights have spread like wild fire to other security institutions. Ideally, the two powerful historicals are supposed to be sharing security information as their dockets, but due to their personal egos, the two never see eye to eye.

Not at ease: Gen.Kale Kayihura (L) and Lt.Gen.Henry Tumukunde can’t see eye to eye.

While speaking at Parliament on Wednesday afternoon, Gen.Otafiire revealed that such differences are normal in communities but need to be handled in private before they affect other people.

“With the issue of rifts in the security forces, I hear some bit of fraternal quarrel between Gen. Tumukunde and Gen. Kayihura; this is just individuals having differences. Unfortunately they put it in the open.

I used to have a lot of differences with my brother Amama Mbabazi but for us we were civilized. You never heard it in the press; we had differences and concurrencies”, he said.

He added “If they have issues, let them sit down and amicably sort them out since they are all comrades”. The minister vowed to try and unite the two warring generals.
