Kampala Capital City Authority’s (KCCA) Gender Committee Director for Lubaga Division Mr. Henry Lutwama has pledged support for fast rising Community Based Organization (CBO)-Amka Foundation-Uganda.
Lutwama, revealed the good news while representing KCCA at the recent official opening of AMKA foundation’s public library at their offices in Kasubi-Namungoona, Lubaga Division.
Lutwama,in his key note address noted that setting up a Community Library that the Amka Foundation has done is very interesting and unique adding that it will ably improve on the reading culture of Ugandans in the area.
“I am very optimistic about your Library set up. It’s a unique initiative that I will support with a few book donations. I’ll also do my best to connect you to the right offices including KCCA. I have supported very many Youth initiatives, and as the Director of the Gender Committee, expect my support in your registration as a Community Based Organization. You have my full support on this. We are going to help you grow with whichever means we can use” he said.
He also commended Amka Foundation for what he termed as great work that they do for the betterment of the Community and encouraged them to continue with their ideas and Vision.
Amka Foundation is operating in key areas such as Health, Agriculture, Food Security, Social Advocacy, Human Rights, Education and Gender among others. This, according to the Organization’s Vice Chairman Mr. (Modafinil) Geoffrey Mugisha O’wembabazi, is motivated by United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with an aim of engaging and empowering the communities.
