Popular Nigerian artiste and songwriter Paul Okoye aka Rude Boy, one of the most celebrated artistes in Africa, is in Uganda, ready to mash up partiers.
He is sharpening his voice a head of the Valentine’s Day performance at Cricket Oval Lugogo on Friday 14th/2/2020.
During a presser on Wednesday held at Mystil hotel by the event organizers Comedy Store Uganda, Rude Boy assured partiers that he came fully equipped to rock them with hit after hit. He is popularly known for hits like ‘Alingo’, ‘Do Me’, among other club banger which are mostly love jams.
Rude Boy assured his fans that he will be performing for more than two hours and will do all his songs for revelers who will attend the Valentine’s Day gig.
“I am happy to be here,” he said, adding that “trust me I am going to make people cry with love.”
He said that he has come to Uganda with all his energetic team and they are ready to light up the Cricket Oval.
However, Rude Boy asked Ugandan music fans to stop insulting, bias and negativity towards fellow local artistes. He instead encouraged them promote the artistes as the only way to prevent African countries from succumbing to western music.
Alex Muhangi, the Chief Executive Officer Comedy Store Uganda, reminded revelers that they decided to hold the gig at the Cricket Oval because it has bigger space compared to the UMA exhibition hall where they have held their gigs initially, since Rude Boy is a big-name artist who must generate a huge number of revellers.
Muhangi reminded Ugandans to quickly book tickets before they run out of stock adding that tickets are available at affordable prices from ordinary Shs25, 000 – VIP 50, 000 and Shs1million for a table.
Muhangi added that gates will be open at 4:00pm and several Ugandan artistes are to perform at the gig, among them Sheebah Karungi and Cindy Sanyu, Bebe Cool, Kabako, Bizonto and many others.
Rude Boy last performed in Uganda 10 years ago when he was still under the music label P-Square, which was a Nigerian duo of identical twin brothers Peter Okoye and Paul Okoye.
