Europe: UEFA Champions League football is back! Europe’s premier club competition returns this evening with a host of bumper fixtures.

Liverpool begin the defence of their crown away at Napoli, a fixture they lost last season, as Frank Lampard makes his debut in the competition as manager when Chelsea host Valencia.

Elsewhere, Barcelona will look to earn a statement win away at Borussia Dortmund as last season’s runners-up, Ajax, host a Lille side back in the group stage for the first time since 2012.

The early games see Inter Milan, now under the guidance of Antonio Conte, host Slavia Prague, and Lyon face off with Zenit.

Earlier in the day, Mauricio Pochettino, Pep Guardiola and Zinedine Zidane will be facing the media for their traditional pre-match press conferences.
