Kampala: The latest from State House is that the long awaited Presidential Address on Covid-19 has been rescheduled to Sunday, September 20, 8pm-Senior Presidential Press Secretary Don Wanyama said.

The development comes after President who this week summoned a special cabinet meeting to determine the future of learners and other sectors such as bars, sports and music events, hence a delay and postponement of the address till Sunday.
In confirmation of the new development, Don Wanyama tweeted, “Good people, the Presidential Address on Covid-19 has been rescheduled to Sunday, September 20th, at 8pm. It will be live on TVs and radios. Asante,” Mr. Wanyama wrote.

These come at a time when the Ministry of Health has declared over 5000 coronavirus cases, of whom over 60 have died and 2100 recovered.

Continentally, the number of confirmed COVID-19 infections stood at 1,353,283 with 32,625 deaths, according to the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention.
