Kampala: Finally Kampala lord mayor Erias Lukwago has been discharged from hospital in Nairobi, Kenya where he has been admitted for the last two weeks.

According to the deputy lord mayor Doreen Nyanjura, Lukwago was discharged today morning and is expected land in Uganda on Monday, December 7.
Lukwago was last month admitted at Nairobi hospital after being diagnosed with acute anaphylaxis which became persistent on treatment.

Anaphylaxis is a severe allergic reaction to some foods, insect stings, medications and others. It causes the immune system to overreact to the allergen by releasing chemicals and can cause one to go into shock, sudden blood pressure drop, and blockage in a breath.
Three days ago, the office of the lord mayor issued a statement saying that Lukwago had registered tremendous improvement following an intensive and comprehensive medical management.

“This tremendous improvement follows a collaboration of efforts between Aga Khan hospital and Nairobi hospital as professor Godfrey Lule, a Ugandan consultant physician and gastroenterologist and professor Muhindi Wanjugu a consultant physician and chest expert are leading the medical team that is working on the lord mayor,” read a statement issued on December 2.
Meanwhile, sources from his camp have revealed that they have been drawing a couple of campaign strategies in a bid to strengthen his candidature ahead of the forthcoming 2021 elections.
“We were not shaken by his sickness because ever since he was nominated, we have been on ground hunting for support for him, therefore he’s discharge is a catalyst to our campaign agenda aiming to retain him as our Lord Mayor,” the source noted.
