The Member of Parliament for Nakaseke South Hon. Lutamaguzi Ssemakula has accused the government over high taxes imposed on small scale industries and instead given tax holidays to foreign investors who have more money to spend!
“I’m really surprised that the government can give big tax holidays to companies belonging to foreigners and put a burden of paying through the ‘nose’ to the small scale industries to fill the gap!”
In an exclusive interview with our reporter on Wednesday, the mp who doesn’t mince words advised the President to be more kin when making reshuffles to find out those that can work tirelessly for the locals and national development rather than simply appeasing the appointing authority. “Almost 90% of the current ministers do not fit in the positions they are occupying, they are simply serving the interests of the appointing authority at the expense of national interests” added Lutamaguzi.
He decried the ‘fact’ that everyone in Uganda has been reduced to a meager survivor! “Almost everyone in Uganda is now a survivor, including members of Parliament, doctors, Teachers, Nurses etc. That’s why they sometimes leave threads into patients because their minds are thinking of what to eat that night, they are not sure!!”
