Appearing before the Buganda Road Grade One Magistrate, Charles Yeteise, state prosecutor Viola Tusingwire asked court to remand the suspects on grounds that inquiries into their case are still on going. The suspects complained before court that they have been tortured and were made to make confessions and statements under duress. They were brought to court cuffed and shackled by their feet, but the magistrate ordered handcuffs to be removed because there was enough security in court.
The said suspects were arrested last month from Usafi Mosque by joint security personnel where they had allegedly been hiding after committing the alleged heinous crimes.
Prosecution further alleged that the accused and others still at large on February 27, 2018 at Kigo in Wakiso district murdered Suzan Magara.
Magara was kidnapped on February 7th along Kabaka Anjagala road in Mengo on her way to her apartment in Lungujja. The kidnappers held Magara captive for three weeks as they demanded for a ransom of $1 million from her father, John Magara.
After receiving about Shs 700m of the money, the kidnappers killed Magara and dumped her body in Kitiko village between Kajjansi and Kigo along the Entebbe Express highway.
