Kampala,
Uganda: The Police in Kampala are searching for a two-year-old identified as Denis
Bajje, who went missing on Sunday January 27th, 2019.
Bajje is feared to have been kidnapped by an 18-year-old babysitter, who took him from his grandparents’ home in Namutumba district, under the pretext of taking him to his mother in Kampala. The babysitter identified as Sumini Nakagolo, a relative of Bajje’s parents, was taking the boy from Namutumba to his parents’ home in Kampala. Mary Mirembe, the boy’s mother, said “I last talked to the caretaker on Sunday 27th January 2019 at around 3:00Pm when they had reached Jinja. However, since then the phone has gone off and no attempt has been made to contact me.” It was however discovered that on Monday January 28th, 2019, Nakagolo tried contacting her sister in Namaremba village, Namutumba district. Information in the hands of the Police indicate that using her known phone number, Nakagolo called one of her sister’s neighbours and asked to speak to her. When the neighbour asked where Nakagolo was, the phone went off and has since then not been switched on again. (https://theownerbuildernetwork.co/)
A case of missing persons for both the child and the babysitter has since been recorded at Central Police Station Kampala and Maganjo Police Post, where Mirembe stays with her Husband and child. The Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Patrick Onyango urged anyone who knows the whereabouts of the two persons to report to the nearest Police Station.
