Sheema: Mzee Amudan Katongole, 51, a resident of Rwengando village, Kagango division in Sheema Municipality, is stranded after being chased  from his home by his own wife  Winnie Kyokurebwa and children due to poverty.

Katongole, narrated to TheSpy reporter  with tears descending down his cheeks thus; “I have been married  to my wife Winnie Katongole for 25 years and we  have four children, however, when our first two children got jobs in Kampala, they decided to chase me out of my permanent house, telling me that they are ashamed of me because I’m poor,” Katongole said with agony.

He added that with the help of the area police he divided his land into plots for his children some time back.

But on Saturday 5th January 2019, he was surprised  after finding his eldest son Musa Kiseka, whom he educated up to diploma in law , destroying his (Katongole’s) banana plantation.

When he asked why he was doing that, the whole family ganged up to fight him (Katongole,) which prompted him to run to police for rescue. The wife and children have since barred him from returning to his  house and property.

Katongole said what hurts him most is seeing his own children whom he educated after selling his property, chase him from his own house which he built from his sweat.

He also said that he wasn’t shocked that his wife allied with children to make him suffer  because she sold her father’s  graveyard.

TheSpy tried talking to Katongole’s children of Amudan who include Musa Kiseka (diploma in law) and Hanifah Nansubuga (diploma in business administration) about the matter but they all refused to give a comment.

Sheema police later arrested the mother and her children, accusing them of malicious damage and denying Katongole his rights as head of the family.
