Residents of Bujanga A in Kyabugyimbi Sub-county, Bushenyi district, were on Friday morning shocked after finding a coffin outside the home of one of their neighbours .
The coffin was seen by one of the residents at around 6:55Am outside the door of William Muhinda Barebwooha , according to the area Chairman LC one Bujaga A Clement Kizza.
Kizza said that “One of my residents came to my home running and told me that he had seen a coffin at someone’s home. I called people and police who gathered here and we woke up the boy who sleeps in that house. On Wednesday , one native known as Nurse Keshuubi Joselyne lost her house property. We tried to find out who might have stolen her property we failed.
She told me that she would do anything she could to make sure that lhe gets the person who stole her property. So I think this is what she did.”
He added that “What shocked people was to burn the coffin and it fails to turn to ash, which was very strange.”
Area Councillor Jane Byaruhanga said that “While we were there wondering what to do , there came a prominent pastor in the area known as Kasema Rwakaringura, who is known for making miracles. He prayed and later broke the coffin and we found it was empty. He told us to bring for him petrol and we brought two litres. He poured it on the coffin and lit fire. What shocked us was that the coffin remained the way it was. There was no sign showing that it had been put on fire. We brought more two litres of petrol and poured on it but all in vain. The coffin remain unburnt.
Pastor told us that he will burn it for the last time. We brought more litres of petrol but still the coffin didn’t burn. There came another pastor who decided to split the coffin into pieces. As he was chopping it, he got injured and bled too much, although other people helped him to chop it. They got the small pieces and poured on them more petrol but still they refused to burn. They mixed them with smaller pieces of coffin, poured petrol on them mixed with oil but it took over two hours for all pieces to burnt to ash.”
However, the history of the family where the coffin was found is also worrying . According to residents , William Muhinda was a super-talented thief.
However in 2013 , he was taken by the military to an unknown place and up to now they have never seen him.
Currently Bruce Muhinda, son of Muhinda, is the only one who stays in that house where they found a coffin. According to Kizza Bruce isn’t a good person as such, although he denied the allegations.
But this was not the first time for a coffin to be found outside someone’s door in Kyabugyimbi Sub county .
According to Byaruhanga in 2011 they found a coffin outside Elidard Kashaija’s home, in 2013 they found it at one of the natives’ home in Katikamwe Kyabugyimbi and in the same year they found a dog’s head at Kamukama’s door, also a resident of the same area.
